PERFORMANCE

The Institute of Public Migration Policies operates on six fronts, namely: (i) public policies; (ii) networking; (iii) theoretical-practical dialogues; (iv) courses and training; (v) advocacy; and (vi) projects. Each of the action fronts aims at specific aspects, but which are directly and indirectly related, either through the development of public policies, articulation for data collection and mapping, training of those who work or are interested in the theme, development of projects aimed at guaranteeing of participation and integration of migrants in society, among others. In this way, IPPMI proposes to contribute to the transformation of the existing reality for migrants in the country, inserting these people in the spaces that compete with them and guaranteeing a democratic, plural, participatory and hospitable space.  

 

ACTION FRONTS

 

  • (i) Public Policies: actions aimed at data collection and mapping, follow-up, development and access to public policies for migrants for the subjects' access to city spaces and to the areas of health, assistance, psychology, work, housing, shelter, politics, among others.

  • (ii) Network articulation: creation of a support network focused on migration issues, with training and sharing of good practices; accompaniment, monitoring, participation and articulation for the creation of working groups, committees and councils at state and municipal level.

  • (iii) Theoretical-practical dialogues: compilation of materials, regulations and decisions related to migration issues, development of articles, reports, blog and podcast, with the aim of dialoguing, debating and thinking about actions.

  • (iv) Courses and training: courses, training and events aimed at public servants and agents who work directly and indirectly with migrants, civil society organizations, institutions, entities, researchers, interested parties, migrants and refugees, in order to assist in assistance , disseminating information and providing knowledge.

  • (v) Advocacy: actions aimed at acting before international human rights courts and in the formulation of public policies at the domestic level.

  • (vi) Projects: actions related to migration issues that provide for the improvement of existing services, dialogue, good practices, holding exhibitions and cultural, artistic and gastronomic shows, among others.
